Virtual Event with Matt Talbert

Do you over-think when making a portrait? It's time to get out of your portrait painting comfort zone!  Named to be one of the "Top 100 Figurative Artist Working Now" by PoetsArtists Magazine, 'Matt Talbert' works in thick impasto and bold colours, combining the freedom of experimentation with traditional techniques to enhance the emotions at play. Trusting his intuition and embracing spontaneity are key to his work. So if you're looking to sky rocket into 2021 with a body of really exciting new works, this is absolutely the event for you.  The first section of this event will involve a 15-20 minute demonstration of Matt working from the model and talking through his specific technique. This will be your chance to ask him specific questions, materials used and his career so far. Watch him paint stroke for stroke, missing nothing about how he approaches his painting, the colours and brushes he uses and how to work quickly from life.  After that, we will do a series of portrait sittings from 2-30 minutes, giving you the chance to embrace Matt's techniques. The longer pose will be an opportunity to produce something a little more detailed and to explore your style.  At the end, we will spotlight different artists willing to share their work with the rest of the attendees, and to get some feed back from Matt, Abi and Tiffany.  Come away from this event with a body of truly exciting paintings to propel you into 2021!
