About the Event

Welcome to the first edition of The Virtual Figure: Muse Sessions.

“Who does inspire me? And how does each model affect my personal style?” By focusing on models of various shapes, genders and races, we can evolve our artist practice, taking us one step close to becoming a professional artist.

Abi Joy Samuel.

"The flesh of the muse, the energy that fills you the kindling to starts the fire of creation.

We seek out this feeling and chase it all throughout our lives as artists and I’m so excited to begin truly exploring the Muse through The Virtual Figure."

Tiffany Cole.

The muse is a source of inspiration for an artist, but that ‘source’ can come in many different forms. The word itself dates back to Greek mythology, with Zeus’ daughters forming the nine Muses who presided over the arts and science. This ethereal quality to the term adds a weight and sense of grandiosity.

Historically the muse has been associated to a person, usually a woman figure who was posing as an artist’s model or just offering advice and support through the creative process.

Throughout these series of events we'd like to take you on a journey to explore the muse as a concept and its relation with the artist.
